Harrow Acquires Global Rights to Tyrvaya Nasal Spray for Dry Eye — Tyrvaya, a highly selective cholinergic agonist indicated for use twice daily, activates the trigeminal parasympathetic pathway to stimulate the glands and cells responsible for natural tear film production. It is approved in the US, China, and Taiwan.

Harrow, of Nashville, Tennessee, announced Aug. 6 that it would acquire global rights to Tyrvaya (varenicline) nasal spray for dry eye from Viatris.

Under the deal, Harrow will pay $30 million up front and up to $70 million in contingent milestone payments tied to Tyrvaya’s net sales, the company said.

Harrow also said it would bring on select employees of Viatris to support its marketing of Tyrvaya.

The transaction is expected to close in H2-2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Viatris, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, acquired Tyrvaya in its deal for Oyster Point Pharma in 2023.

Harrow said that Vevye (cyclosporine ophthalmic solution 0.1%) would remain its cornerstone dry eye offering, while Tyrvaya could reach a broader range of patients with its different route of administration and mechanism of action.
